Design All you, all the time.
With a display that is now always on, Apple Watch Series 5 is there for you like never before. Faces and complications let you see the information that matters most to you without raising your wrist. Cases are available in a range of materials engineered by Apple, including 100% recycled aluminum1 and, for the first time, titanium. Match with any band you please, and create a combination that is perfectly personalized, just for you.
Always-On Retina display.
You no longer need to raise your wrist or touch the screen to see the time or other information on your watch face, because the display never sleeps. So whether riding a bike, cranking out some crunches, or counting the minutes in a meeting, all you need to do is glance to find the time or your workout metrics right there where you want them.
A screen as remarkable as the day is long.
To remain on all day with all-day battery life, hardware and software have to work in harmony.2 The display dims when your wrist is down, yet key features, like watch hands, remain visible at all times. Touching the face or raising your wrist brings everything back to full brilliance.
Titanium.
Only found in the most exclusive watches, titanium is exceptionally strong, lightweight, and beautiful. For our natural titanium finish, we developed a special surface coating that prevents yellowing, staining, and showing fingerprints. Our Space Black is created with the same DLC process we use for stainless steel, yielding a truly gorgeous finish.
Aluminum.
Apple Watch uses 7000 series aerospace-grade aluminum that is at once exceedingly strong and incredibly light. It is the same alloy used in the iPhone XR. And now the aluminum used in the Apple Watch case is 100 percent recycled — culled from the iPhone production process.
Ceramic.
Brilliant white through-and-through, we engineered our ceramic to be scratch-resistant and exceedingly durable, assuring it will maintain its stunning looks even after years of wear.
Stainless Steel.
Known for its durability and resistance to corrosion, stainless steel is a staple of traditional watchmaking. We took this metal, gave it a mirror-like finish, and made it 80 percent harder using a specialized cold-forging process of our own invention.
Aluminum. Apple
Every piece a masterpiece.
We put as much care into engineering our case materials as we do the technology they contain. We now offer four exquisite materials, including titanium. Each of the metals and the ceramic we use were painstakingly engineered by Apple to enhance their native qualities, while bringing out a distinctive beauty
Bring on the bands.
Apple Watch bands are designed to be easily interchangeable. They simply slide on and off, so you can effortlessly swap bands as you run from the gym to dinner with a client. Choose from elegant leathers, high-performance fluoroelastomer, flexible nylon weaves, or metal bands if that’s your thing. With so many colors and clever clasps, your Apple Watch can feel like a whole new watch, over and over again.
Proactive Health Monitor
Always in sight. Always insightful.
All around, Apple Watch inspires a healthier life. It monitors your heart rate and lets you know if something is wrong. Helps you keep track of your menstrual cycle and taps you if noise levels rise to a point that could impact your hearing. You can also add complications like Breathe, Heart Rate, and Noise to your watch face and keep them top of mind throughout your day. It’s the first watch that really watches out for you.
ECG on your wrist.
Anytime, anywhere. With the ECG app,1 Apple Watch Series 5 is capable of generating an ECG similar to a single-lead electrocardiogram. It’s a momentous achievement for a wearable device that can provide critical data for doctors and peace of mind for you.
Your finger can tell you a lot about your heart.
Electrodes built into the Digital Crown and the back crystal work together with the ECG app to read your heart’s electrical signals. Simply touch the Digital Crown to generate an ECG waveform in just 30 seconds. The ECG app can indicate whether your heart rhythm shows signs of atrial fibrillation — a serious form of irregular heart rhythm — or sinus rhythm, which means your heart is beating in a normal pattern.
It has your heart in mind.
Unusually high or low heart rates and irregular heart rhythms (known as arrhythmias) could be signs of a serious condition. But many people don’t recognize the symptoms, so the underlying causes often go undiagnosed. With notifications in the Heart Rate app, Apple Watch Series 5 can check your heart and alert you to these irregularities — so you can take action and consult your doctor.
Track your cycle with a tap.
The Cycle Tracking App gives you insight into your menstrual cycle and can help provide a clearer picture of your overall health. In addition to simply ensuring that you’re prepared, you’ll have more information to help you track irregularities and symptoms and enrich discussions with your doctor.
Apps that make health the first priority.
The right apps can play an important role in reminding you to keep up with healthy routines. Whether you want to better manage a condition like diabetes, make healthier food choices, or reduce stress, there’s an app designed to help you prioritize your goal. And now that the App Store is right on your wrist, it’s even easier to find great health apps.
A more personal Health app.
For a more informed you. With the redesigned Health app on iPhone, it’s easier than ever to access the information that matters most to you. Now you can see automatically generated highlights of how your health data is trending over time.
Fall detection.
Apple Watch Series 5 can detect that you’ve fallen. When an incident like this occurs, a hard fall alert is delivered, and you can easily initiate a call to emergency services or dismiss the alert. If you’re unresponsive after 60 seconds, the emergency call will be placed automatically. Your emergency contacts will then be notified and sent your location.
International emergency calling.
Now you can complete a call to emergency services almost anywhere in the world. Just press and hold the side button on Apple Watch Series 5 with cellular and you’ll be connected with the help you need. It even works if you’re nowhere near your iPhone.
Ultimate Workout Partner
Innovation never rests.
Whether you’re an elite athlete or you just want to track your daily activity, Apple Watch Series 5 helps you train smarter to get results faster. Now with a display that’s always on, your metrics are always visible, so you never have to stop and raise your wrist to see how you’re doing. And with 50 million songs to stream from Apple Music, you’ve got all the motivation you need to keep moving.
Workouts that don‘t quit.
Cycling, yoga, swimming, high-intensity interval training. You name it, Apple Watch measures it. Set workout-specific goals, see full summaries when you’re done, and track how you’re trending over time in the Activity app on your iPhone. Apple Watch even works for wheelchair users, with two specific wheelchair workouts.
Don’t stop what you’re doing to see how it’s going.
The Workout app has been optimized for the new display. Whether you’re holding a pose, riding a bike, or swimming some laps, your metrics are always visible, every agonizing second. You’re welcome.
Swimming metrics.
Strokes of genius. Water resistant to 50 meters, Apple Watch Series 5 is designed with swimmers in mind.1 The Pool Swim workout automatically records splits and sets and can actually recognize your stroke. The Open Water Swim workout visualizes your route on a map. And both precisely track active calories, distance, and overall pace.
Running metrics that go a long way.
Apple Watch Series 5 is made to take even the most advanced runner further. Pace alerts give you a gentle tap on the wrist to let you know if you’re behind or ahead of where you want to be. Cadence lets you see your steps per minute and helps you refine your running technique. And rolling pace constantly updates, allowing you to see your split for the preceding mile at any time.
 Know exactly where you stand.
Now, in addition to counting flights of stairs and providing elevation gain in an outdoor workout, Apple Watch Series 5 gives you your current elevation. So whether you’re climbing a hill or descending into a canyon, you know just how high or low you really are.
Connected gym. Be one with your workout.
With just a tap, you can pair your watch with compatible gym equipment.2 So you can keep important metrics like heart rate, speed, and calories in sync between your watch and the treadmill, stair climber, or stationary bike you’re on.
Plays well with others.
With the world’s largest app store on your wrist, there’s a third party app for all kinds of ways to round out your exercise routine.
Wikiloc. Discover millions of outdoor trails around the world. Choose between hiking, running, MTB, skiing and more.

Three rings. One goal.
Understanding all the ways you move throughout the day is an essential part of living a healthy life. Apple Watch shows your daily movement as three simple metrics: Move, Exercise, and Stand. Together they make up the Activity rings that track your progress all day long. But Apple Watch doesn’t just show you how you’re doing, it also keeps you going with motivation from personal coaching, awards, and Activity Competitions. It’s everything you need to stay fired up to close your rings 365.
See how to close your Activity rings
Move. The Move ring tracks the active calories you burn. Active calories are the ones you burn through all kinds of movement, from taking the stairs at work to playing with the kids.
Exercise. The Exercise ring shows you how many minutes of brisk activity you’ve done, whether you’re working out or just moving at a fast pace.
Stand. Sitting too much can contribute to health problems over time. So Apple Watch keeps you motivated to get up throughout the day.
The latest trends in fitness. Yours.
The new Trends feature shows whether your metrics like exercise minutes, running pace, and cardio fitness are headed up or down over time, so you can keep it going or turn it around. When you want to see how you’re doing, open the Activity app on your iPhone.
Turn a friendly rivalry into fuel.
In addition to sharing your activity, you can challenge a friend to a seven-day competition. Earn points based on the percentage of your Activity rings that you close, and keep up the intensity with a bit of smack talk.
Easy Ways to Connect
You’re good to go.
From phone calls, to texts, to emergency assistance around the world, Apple Watch Series 5 with cellular lets you leave your phone behind and still stay connected.1 And now that the display is always on, your important information stays front and center.

Find your way in the world.
Apple Watch Series 5 has a built-in compass, so now you can navigate directly from your watch face. The updated Maps app now shows the direction you’re facing. And the new Compass app displays your heading along with elevation, latitude, longitude, and incline. Scouts everywhere, rejoice.
Start off on the right foot.
Working with the built-in compass, the Maps app is even more powerful. In addition to showing your geographic position, it now indicates which direction you’re facing. When you’re using turn-by-turn directions, a gentle tap on the wrist lets you stay on track without having to look at your watch. Which means even if you can’t hear the beeps and chimes, you can be sure you’re going the right direction.
International emergency calling.
Now you can complete a call to emergency services almost anywhere in the world. Just press and hold the side button on Apple Watch Series 5 with cellular and you’ll be connected with the help you need. It even works if you’re nowhere near your iPhone2.

With the new Audiobooks app, Apple Books titles in your Reading Now list are automatically synced to your watch. Apple Watch also makes it easy to stream all your favorite episodes from Apple Podcasts, an album or playlist from Apple Music,3 or live radio from stations around the world,4 right to your wrist.
Easy money.
Just double-click the side button and hold your watch to the checkout reader to use Apple Pay. You can also send or receive Apple Cash with the Messages app. No matter how you use it, Apple Pay keeps your financial information completely private and secure.
Your voice has never been so commanding.
Hear a song you like? Just raise your wrist and ask what it is. Siri and Shazam will help you discover the latest tunes. Have an important question about, well, anything? Now Siri can also search the web and show you the top results. With cellular, you can do it all without your phone.
